The Observer Food Monthly examines in-depth the 'antibiotic-resistant time bomb' that the indiscriminate use of antibiotics in farming may have created. The Soil Association's Richard Young is quoted extensively: "I believe that, literally within a decade or so, we are going to see a large number of people dying from drug-resistant infections for which there are simply no effective antibiotics." Organic chef Steven Saunders and SA licensee Will Best provide evidence to support the article's conclusion that it's safer, at the moment, to eat meat which comes "from animals reared organically."
