A damning verdict on genetic modification has been delivered by the public in a study compiled by the Food Standards Agency. It concludes, 'For many people any consumer benefits from GM food remain unclear and unproven.' The FSA admitted, 'There were concerns regarding the potential long-term health effects of eating GM food.' It said even consumers prepared to eat GM food wanted full labelling of products and a logo to identify foods containing GM ingredients.
