OMSCo Takes Award for Consumer Education

The Organic Milk Suppliers' Co-operative (that's us!) won the Consumer Education Award which recognises efforts to increase consumer awareness of the benefits of organic food and the issues surrounding its production.

The co-operative's chief executive Sally Bagenal, staff and members were commended for meeting the problems within the organic dairy industry head- on.

The oversupply of organic milk prompted OMSCo to undertake a bold and broad-based campaign to encourage consumers to buy more organic milk including producing an organic food guide for parents with toddlers, information boards on the footpaths of organic farms, and promoting a health message in the consumer media.
