OMSCo Refutes Claim of Diluted Organic Standards

OMSCo is very concerned at the recent suggestion of a dilution of organic standards. This suggestion is founded on personal comments made by few individuals. We believe that the Soil Association and other organic certification bodies work to the highest standards.

Patrick Holden, Director of the Soil Association, has said “The positive health report for the organic movement doesn’t come without a warning. Our very success makes us vulnerable to those putting short-term profits before principles…The task for the Soil Association over the next decades is to fight such degrading of organic standards, whilst building on this unprecedented growth. The active engagement of the public and their critical support is vital for us to achieve that balance.” (The Independent Organic Supplement, 2 September 2006).

OMSCo works very closely with all the certification bodies to ensure the highest organic standards.
