Doctors warn that unless parents stop overfeeding their children and improve their diets, more and more could suffer from heart problems, high blood pressure and diabetes. "Obesity is producing a generation of children who need to be monitored more closely to reduce the risk of premature death," said Dr Russell Viner, a researcher at University College London Hospitals who carried out a study examining the medical records of 103 youngsters classified as obese. The study found that many already had health problems normally found in adults.
