Compensation for Fungicide Spray Horror

An American family has been awarded £3.9million compensation after their baby was born without eyes as a result of exposure to the fungicide Benlate.

The Supreme Court of Florida ruled that the chemical, made by DuPont, was responsible for the birth defect.

The mother was sprayed with the chemical whilst walking past a fruit farm when she was pregnant. In the UK, 30 families are preparing similar cases.
