Get Behind the Pesticides 'Right to Know' Campaign

Archived

Monday, 15 March 2004

The proposals currently being considered by the government are intended to give the public the right to know what pesticides are being used, by requiring pesticide users to provide:

1) public access to spray records
2) advance notification of spraying, and signs on-site in fields near residential areas, and where there are rights of way, and
3) buffer no-spray zones around residential areas.

PAN (Pesticides Action Network) are asking that people find the time to do any, or all, of the following:

Please write to, or email, their MP, and ask him or her urgently to sign the Early Day Motion, number 776, tabled by David Drew MP on the 4th March.

Write to their local paper, and contact other local media, to raise awareness that the proposals are being considered, and to rally support.
